The Perry Jayettes are off to their best start in school history since the 2002 state championship season.  Perry is 8-1 and currently tied for first place in the conference with Winterset with a mark of 5-1.  One of the big reasons for their early success has been the leadership on and off the court.  Sophomores Clair Marburger and Maggie Lowe have been two of the more dynamic players in the conference while senior Frankie Eklund has been the consistent force inside allowing the Jayettes to use an inside outside game.  Marburger loves the team chemistry the Jayettes are showing right now.

“We have so many leaders on this team..both young and old and that is what makes it so special.  Frankie, Becca and Ash are awesome motivators, they can pick us up and really get us going.  If one of those three are down, then Maggie and I have no problem stepping into the leadership role.  It’s nice because when they’re gone, we will have experienced leadership coming back.  Its pretty cool.”

Perry is slated to play ADM tonight.  The game status is still up in the air because of the weather. Stay tuned to the Raccoon Valley Radio group for an update.
