The Greene County Community Center offers two more free winter break activities.

The GCCC will be having Nintendo Wii Just Dance 4 in the social room of the recreation center on Wednesday.  Director Vicky Lautner says that last year, Wii Just Dance 3 was a success with a lot of kids showing off their dance skills.  She hopes that this year, more guys come out to dance with the girls.  The event is at 1:30pm and is free and open to everyone.

The other free winter activity will be the annual sledding trip to Seven Hills Park.  Lautner comments that last year they couldn’t do the trip due to lack of snow.  This year, she is very excited because there is plenty of snow and Greene County Conservation Director Dan Towers recently announced that Seven Hills Park is open for sledding.  You must bring your own sled and the GCCC will provide buses to take people to Seven Hills Park.  The buses will leave at 1:30pm from the GCCC on Thursday and they will return at 4:30pm.  This event is free but requires registration by January 2nd so the GCCC knows how many buses to reserve.

Lautner explains that these events are designed to give kids and families something to do during winter break and to keep kids active.  Contact the Greene County Community Center at 515-386-3412 to sign up for the sledding trip or for more information for either event.
