The 7th ranked Perry Jayette basketball team continues to prepare for their biggest game of the season this Friday night when they avenge an earlier season overtime loss to Dallas Center Grimes.  First place will be at stake in the RRC when these two powers collide.  Despite the 10-1 start, veteran Head Coach Mike Long continues to add more material to his team’s playbook.

“Over the holiday break, not only did we work on the fundamentals, but we also continued to add a few more curve balls to our offensive and defensive schemes.  We installed quite a few new plays and added a couple more defensive twist to our game plans for the second half of the season.  I hope to implement a more aggresive, jumping  and trapping style of defense out of our man to man look somewhere down the line.”

DCG outscored Perry 7-0 in overtime back in December to hand the Jayettes their only loss of the season.  Tipoff is 6:00 this Friday night with the HyVee Pregame show starting at 5:45 on KDLS.
