With the high school basketball season past the halfway mark, four players from the Greene County High School teams rank high in per game scoring among Heart of Iowa Activities Conference teams. Senior Jennifer Kennedy is second in points per game among girls in the league at 16.8. Kennedy trails North Polk (Alleman) junior Miranda Murphy by just two-tenths of a point. Greene County sophomore Kayla Mobley is ninth in the league at 9.9 points per game.

On the boys’ side, cousins Justin Ostrander and Reed Ostrander are both in the top 10 among conference players in scoring average. Justin is seventh at 15.6 points per contest while Reed is ninth at 14.5 points. Colfax-Mingo senior Vaughn WIlson is first in the conference at 23.4 points per game and South Hamilton (Jewell) senior John Hegland is second at an even 20 points.
