The Perry boys basketball team will look to snap a 2 game losing skid tonight when they travel to Grimes to battle 3rd ranked and 10-0 Dallas Center Grimes.  Perry lost to DCG back in the second game of the season but made it close down the stretch.  Perry Head Coach Ned Menke loves these types of challenges.

“When I look at the schedule at the start of the year, these are the dates that I always circle.  What a great opportunity for our team.  Its not to often that you get to play in an enviornment  like DCG and play the calibur of team that they are.  This is a very good, fundamentally solid team.  We will have to bring our best game to knock them off.  But that is what challenges are all about.”

DCG is fresh off an overtime victory over previous number one Grinnell and a blow out win over Carlisle.  Menke talks about his keys to a Perry win.

“Fast start, fast start and another fast start, he laughed.  “Our guys have got to believe they can compete from the get go tonight.  We have to handle their pressure defense out of the extended 2-3 zone.  If our guys can ride the early storm, we should have a chance.  I know we have struggled the last 2 games, but I still believe in these kids.  Good things can still happen.”

You can listen to Perry and DCG tonight on KDLS with Shawn Kenney beginning at 7:30 tonight.
