Attention all 5th Graders and above – this is your invitation to join other boys and girls and learn how to become a baby-sitter.  Guthrie County Extension and Panora Public Library are hosting a Babysitter Basics Training Course consisting of 3 classes to be held Thursday January 31, February 7 and February 14, from 4 to 6 P.M. at the Panora Public Library located at 102 North First Street.

Guthrie County Extension Officer Carolyn Wilson says participants will receive training in the responsibilities of being a baby-sitter; what employers expect; caring for infants and young children; age appropriate toys and activities; safety and how to handle emergencies in addition to basic first aid and rescue breathing.  We would like to see students attend all 3 classes, complete the given assignments and participate in class activities Wilson added.

There is no cost to participants and the registration deadline is January 25.  Wilson asks that if you wish to participate, please register early, as the class is limited to 15 students.

For more information, or to register for the classes, please contact Carolyn Wilson at 641-747-2276 or online at cjwilson@iastate.edu.
