Greene County High School girls’ basketball senior Jennifer Kennedy needs just 24 more points to become the all-time leading scorer in five-player basketball for a Jefferson-based program. Kennedy scored 21 points during a 54-33 victory in Jewell vs. South Hamilton and now has 1.065 points for her career. Ryanne (Ryan) Christensen has 1,088 career points and is currently at the top of the career scoring list.

Kennedy and the Rams travel to Nevada on Friday night to face the 14-3 Cubs. One of the three losses took place last month in Jefferson by a 56-40 score and Kennedy had 23 points in the first meeting. Greene County is 11-6 overall and 10-4 in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference games. A win by the Rams would guarantee Coach Chad Morton’s team a winning season. All the action can be heard on Friday night from Nevada on KGRA, 98.9 FM. Our coverage starts at 5:45 p.m. with the girls’ game starting at 6 p.m. and the boys’ game starting at approximately 7:30 p.m.
