Today is the reorganization vote for Jefferson-Scranton and East Greene School Districts.

If the vote passes, the two separate school districts will formally combine into one district (Greene County).  The district will gain enrollment and continue to offer its students programs like technical and vocational that would otherwise might be cut.  Plus, the district would receive state funding and property owners will receive property tax breaks.

Absentee voting will be accepted until 11am today.  As of noon yesterday, there was 48 absentees in Jefferson-Scranton and 26 in East Greene absentee ballots counted.  Regular voting is from noon-8pm.  For a complete list of polling places, check out the full story at RaccoonValleyRadio.com.

List of polling places:

The Jefferson Precinct: Jefferson, Bristol, Dawson, Franklin, Grant, Greenbrier, Hardin, Jackson and a portion of Section 12 of Willow Township of Greene County will vote in the South Assembly Room of the Courthouse in Jefferson.

The Scranton Precinct:Scranton, Scranton Township and parts of Kendrick, Jackson and Willow Townships of Greene County will vote in the “New” Scranton City Hall in Scranton.
