The girls’ high school basketball season ended with a 66-56 loss on Saturday night in Sac CIty to East Sac County in the opening round of Class 3A regional play. The action was heard on KGRA at 98.9 FM. Coach Chad Morton’s Rams finished with 11 wins and 11 losses while the Raiders advanced to the next round with a 14-8 mark. Both teams had their shooting shoes on at the start and Greene County led 22-21 at the end of the first quarter. The game was tied 35-35 at intermission before ESC took the lead in the second half. The Raiders led 54-47 at the end of the third quarter and the final margin was the largest of the game.
Greene County senior Jennifer Kennedy scored a game-high 23 points and she ends her career as the all-time leading scorer in five-player basketball in the 20 seasons the Rams have played the full-court game. Senior Quinn Flack scored a career-high 12 points. ESC had five players score between nine and 15 points with senior Kaitlin Bass the leader.
