Guthrie Center Elementary School Second Graders can expect something special on February 20 starting at 9:00 A.M.
Farm Safety For Just Kids has teamed up with Farm Credit Services of America and, with the assistance of Outreach Coordinator Morgan Schafbuch, will conduct a presentation on animal safety by hosting a puppet show.
Second Grade Teacher Michele Hanner says that not only will the children be enjoying informative entertainment; RFD-TV’s “Small Town Big Deal” (http://www.smalltownbigdeal.com/) is doing a segment on Farm Safety For Just Kids and will be at the Guthrie Center Elementary School filming the presentation.
In 1987, Marilyn Adams, whose 11-year-old son suffocated in a gravity flow grain wagon full of corn, established Farm Safety For Just Kids in Earlham. The non-profit organization is made up of volunteers who provide instructional materials and training to individuals and communities to help promote a safe farm environment to prevent health hazards, injuries and fatalities to children and youth.
