Greene County Extension will host several continuing instructional courses for commercial pesticide applicators this week and later this month.

Wednesday, February 13th, a continuing instructional course for Commercial Agricultural Weed, Insect and Plant Disease Management will be offered.  You will receive continual instructional credit and are certified for commercial pesticide application in Category 1A (Agricultural Weed), Category 1B (Agricultural Insect) and Category 1C (Agricultural Crop Disease).

However, if you need to be recertified in Category 4 (Seed Treatment) at continuing instructional course will be on Wednesday, February 27th.  Plus, if you need education units as a Certified Crop Advisor for Commercial Ag and Seed Treatment, you attend either course; just bring a crop advisor card to receive credit.

The training must be completed by the end of the year in order to maintain commercial certification with the State of Iowa.  Both courses will be from 9-11:30am at the extension office.

Pre-registration deadline is 4:30pm tomorrow for February 13th and Tuesday, February 26th for February 27th’s course.  A late fee will be charged for registrations at the door.  Contact the Greene County Extension Office at 386-2138 to sign up.
