Several local wrestlers are headed to the Wells Fargo Arena for the state tournament this week.

In Class 2A, Kade Van Kirk, Steth Stetzel, Jackson Van Kirk and Skyler Knoll (Kah-noll) all of Perry have advanced to state.  Greene County’s Jeremy Shuerrman, Jordan Challin and Aaron Beaman will join them along with ADM’s Dylan Nelson.

In Class 1A, Austin Laabs, Cody Cain and Dillon Suhr from Guthrie Center High School, Hunter Grunsted, Tyler Hein and Taylor Hein from Panorama and Ryan Joint from West Central Valley will all be competing in Des Moines.

The Raccoon Valley Radio Network will have live coverage of all these tournament matches along with that of wrestlers from Woodward Granger, Winterset, Van Meter, Ogden and Nodaway Valley.

The double elimination tournament starts with the Class 1A matches at 9am Thursday.  You can hear it all right here on AM 1310 KDLS, KG98 FM and K107.  2A matches will begin Thursday evening at 7:00.
