A Jefferson resident was cited twice for a suspended license in less than a week.

On Friday, Amanda Rohan, 30 of Jefferson was traveling northbound on Highway 4 at the Raccoon River bridge south of town.  When she lost control of her 1991 Chevrolet Blazer due to a mechanical failure and crossed into the southbound lane and hit a bridge railing.

Police Chief Dave Morlan says that Rohan contacted her boyfriend Jason Fox, 35 of Jefferson.  Fox hooked up Rohan’s vehicle with a chain to his pickup and dragged it to the side of the road.  He then took her to the Greene County Medical Center for possible injuries.

Once at the medical center, a nurse called the Law Enforcement Center to have a Sheriff’s Deputy administer a  breathalyzer test to Rohan as required by her employer.  The Deputy found zero traces of alcohol in Rohan.

When the investigating police officer arrived at the scene of the accident he estimated Rohan’s vehicle as a total loss of $2,000.

Due to an earlier incident on Tuesday, February 5th Rohan was involved in a traffic stop by a Jefferson Police Officer and was arrested for a warrant to an earlier crime in Webster County for failure to appear in court along with driving with a suspended license and issued a warning for expired plates.  On Friday, she was cited a second time for driving with a suspended license and Fox was cited for driving without a license.
