A deputy assisted a stranded motorist on 239th St. and M Avenue. The pickup truck owned and driven by Ben Jacobson of Jefferson was experiencing mechanical problems.

A deputy while on routine patrol checked an unoccupied vehicle in the ditch on 230th St. west of U Ave. The vehicle was checked for occupants then tagged as abandoned. These tagged vehicles will be checked for removal by the day shift deputy’s.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office was advised of a possible civil dispute that originated in North Carolina. Chief Deputy Jack Williams will be investigating the Iowa connection regarding this issue.

A deputy was asked to check a vehicle that had slid off the roadway and into the ditch at Highway 144 and 230th St. A 1997 Plymouth Breeze owned by Kelly Mae Lowe of 308 South 12th Street in Grand Junction sustained very little damage and was towed by a private party.

The Greene County Law Enforcement center received an anonymous call about a gray Dodge truck that had just dumped a dog near the 2100 block of 275th St.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
