A deputy was advised of an abandoned vehicle in the ditch at 722 D Avenue. The 1993 Ford Escort owned by Matthew Rastetter of Rockwell City, sustained minimal damage.  The vehicle was later removed by Durbin Towing.

A deputy reported that he had found a bag of clothes in the ditch on N Avenue, near 170th Street. The deputy was unsure if the clothes were deliberately thrown or lost from a vehicle. If the clothes were accidentally lost, the deputy still retains possession of the clothes.

A deputy was asked to pick up a stray puppy from 2075, 190 th Street. The deputy transported the puppy to the PAWS animal shelter.

Saturday, March 9th

A deputy helped resolve a domestic situation in Grand Junction.

A deputy was asked to respond to 800 Percival in Grand Junction for the theft of an X-Box 360 game system. The report indicates the value of the X-Box including games to be valued at $625.

A deputy was advised of a vehicle blocking a driveway at 313 East Main, in Grand Junction. The owner of the vehicle was located and the truck was moved.

A deputy was asked to respond to a noise complaint in Dana. The deputy was not able to locate the loud vehicle or the owner at that time.

Sunday, March 10th

A deputy was advised of a vehicle that had struck a deer near F Avenue on 220 th Street. The car which is owned by Hertz Vehicles LLC and driven by Eduardo More , address unknown ,sustained extensive damage and was given a ride to Jefferson by the deputy. Eduardo More was not hurt and the vehicle was later towed by Durbin Towing.

A deputy was advised of a vehicle experiencing mechanical trouble 2 miles west of Jefferson on 220th Street. The owner stated that the vehicle will be removed at a later time.

A 1995 Pontiac Grand AM driven by Adriene Lawson of Burnside, Iowa, sustained major damage when the vehicle entered the east ditch on Highway 144 near the Louis Dreyfus Ethanol Plant. Adriene Lawson was not injured and Hoffman Towing was contacted. Due to the road conditions no citations were issued.

A 1993 Chevrolet pickup truck owned and driven by William John Becker of Scranton, Iowa, entered the ditch at 220th and B Avenue due to slick road conditions. William Becker was not injured and had no reported damage to the pickup truck. The vehicle will be removed at a later time due to the tow ban.

A 1997 Nissan pickup truck owned by Curtis Lee Eason of Scranton, Iowa, was off the roadway at 220th and Lakewood Avenue. There were no injuries or reported damage to the pickup. No removal due to tow ban.

A 2000 Chevrolet Impala driven by Patrick James McGuire of Iowa City, Iowa, left the roadway and entered the ditch on 220th Street just west of S Avenue. The vehicle sustained no damages and Patrick McGuire was not injured. Mr. McGuire was cited for a registration violation. No removal due to tow ban.

A 2008 Nissan Altima driven by Aaron John Halbur of West Des Moines, Iowa, entered the ditch on 220th Street near R Avenue. Aaron Halbur was not injured and his vehicle sustained no damage. Mr. Halbur was given a ride to Jefferson by the deputy. No removal due to tow ban.

A 2005 Ford car driven by Jordan Todd of Kokomo Indiana, left the roadway and entered the ditch on Neola Avenue near 340th Street. Jordan Todd had three passengers riding with him and no one was injured. Jordan Todd and his passengers were transported to Jefferson by several deputies. The vehicle sustained $1500 in damages and was not towed at that time.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all driven by defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
