The Lake Panorama Association maintenance department anticipates that warming weather may result in thawing conditions that will necessitate the annual spring road embargo on Lake Panorama streets.

Lake Panorama Association General Manager Randy Hall explains the road embargo will be put in place if conditions indicate that the thawing roadbed will allow road damage from excessive weight.   Hall asks all vendors and contractors to contact the association prior to having deliveries scheduled, bringing in contractor equipment, or any other activities that utilizes vehicles weighing 5 tons or more.

The embargo has saved the Association thousands of dollars in road repairs since the LPA streets are mostly chip seal coated.  Using the chip seal coat system protects, preserves and extends pavement life; but does not support loads over 5 tons when the foundation of the roadbed is soft from Spring thaws.

The LPA will make efforts to accommodate deliveries, but cannot do so if it risks road damage.  Hall warns owner-members will be responsible for damages caused by contractors and deliveries to their property.

For more information on whether the road embargo is in place, contact the LPA main office at 641-755-2301.  During non-office hours please contact the Security department at 641-755-3101.
