The Perry Community School District is looking into possibly implementing a 1-to-1 laptop program during the upcoming school year.

Superintendent Lynn Ubben says there’s a lot of things to consider before making this happen.  She says they want the computers to be a tool for the students and staff and help with instruction rather than replace the teachers.

After getting feedback from both teachers and students saying they need more technology in school Ubben says the older students in grades 6-12 will likely be receiving small laptops to take home and work on school work.

Ubben says the program will likely be rolled out in October once enrollment is steady.  When the 6-12th graders get the laptops, the additional computers they had will then be handed down to the elementary level to offer more opportunities throughout the district.
