Dexter Rural Neighbors Project and First Presbyterian Church of Dexter acknowledge the several organizations in the community and Greater Des Moines area for their recent collections and donations of food items and of money to help serve those with financial emergencies.  Among those that helped meet the pressing needs of families are the local Boy Scouts, Dexter Community Building, Dexter Library, Dexter American Legion, Dexter Acts of Random Kindness and the West Des Moines Lutheran Church of Hope.

The Dexter Rural Neighbors Project is a non-profit organization serving needy individuals in Dexter and surrounding counties.  Food Pantry volunteer Linda Runnel says the Dexter Rural Neighbors has a two-fold mission.  The first is a food pantry, which is housed at the First Presbyterian Church of Dexter. Also, limited financial assistance is available to help with rent, utilities and other necessities.

For information about donating items of money, or to receive assistance, contact Linda Runnel at 789-4538 or Doris King at 789-4587.
