A deputy was advised of a vehicle in the ditch near 1063 N Avenue. The vehicle sustained no damage and no state report was needed. Hoffman Brothers Towing of Grand Junction removed the vehicle.

A deputy while on routine patrol located a vehicle that had slid into the ditch at D Avenue and 210th Street. The driver of the Chevrolet HHR, Joan Caroline McCoy of Lanesboro was not injured and her vehicle sustained no damage.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Jefferson Police Department, the Jefferson Fire Department and Alliant Energy with the evacuation of several banks and businesses immediately next to the alley behind Muir Embroidery in Jefferson. A semi-tractor trailer while maneuvering through the alley slid and struck a gas valve and meter causing the escape of natural gas. Alliant Energy soon capped the gas line and it was safe for everyone to return to their businesses.

A deputy was advised of a careless and erratic driver leaving Boone County and entering Greene County on 220th Street. The deputy stopped the vehicle several miles within Greene County and spoke with the driver. No further action was needed at that time.

A deputy was asked to pick up and remove a stray cat from 508 East Hager Street in Grand Junction. The cat was taken to the city animal shelter in Jefferson.

A deputy was asked to unlock a vehicle at 1848 130th Street with two young children in the car.

A deputy was advised of an unoccupied vehicle on U Avenue near 200 th Street. The deputy placed a 24 hr. removal tag on the vehicle and contacted the owner.
