The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors held two regular session meetings last week.

On March 12, after reviewing the release from MidAmerican Energy, it was unanimously approved to sign said release for the agreed amount of $1,091,177  to be paid to the County for all damages done to the roads during the wind turbine project.

Claims in the amount of $150,871.40 were reviewed and approved.

The FY13-14 budget regarding the Adoption of Budget and Certification of Taxes, appropriations and signification changes in revenues and expenditures were reviewed and approved.

There was discussion on the need for the County to upgrade its technology.

On March 14, Guthrie County Conservation Director Joe Hanner gave the board February 2013 GCCB minutes to review.  There was discussion on the range of bids for the Nations Bridge fishing riffle, the possibility of purchasing land from Cargill Inc. for the historical village and whether Hanner should apply for an 80/20 grant for the paving of road crossings for the bike trail.  Guthrie County Engineer Josh Sebern said he had no issue with the paved crossing as long as the road department had no responsibility for their maintenance.  Hanner told the board that both Dallas and Greene Counties are working towards having their crossings paved.  All of the supervisors were in favor of moving forward with the grant except Mike Dickson.  Hanner will submit a grant application with the possibility of Greene County being part of the application.

The grounds mowing contract for areas 1, 2 and 3 with Chad Redfern was reviewed and approved.
