The public is invited to get their green thumbs ready for a visit from Jerry Kluver of KCCI’s “Get Growing with Jerry Kluver” tomorrow.

The Greene County Master Gardeners are sponsoring the free event.  The host of the weekly television show about local gardening will be covering the impacts of the 2012 drought on your garden, managing turfgrass and tips for tree pruning.

Greene County Extension Coordinator Michael Cooley says people should be familiar with Jerry’s show and to have an expert like him coming to Jefferson is a special opportunity for the public.

“Jerry brings with him over 40 years of retail, greenhouse and nursery experience.  Is definitely fun to watch on tv, so I’m sure he’ll be just as exciting to watch and listen to in person as well.”

It will be at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson starting at 6:30pm on March, 21st.  There is no pre-registration required for this event.  For more information, contact Michael Cooley at the extension office at 386-2138.
