At their last meting, the Jamaica City Council voted unanimously to appeal the decision to dismiss a civil infraction against H. D. Meinecke, Jr. who was in violation of the Jamaica City Code of Ordinances within the corporate limits of the city of Jamaica, Guthrie County, Iowa.

The City originally filed the complaint in the Magistrate Court on September 11, 2012.  The matter came to trail on February 21, 2013 and was dismissed by Magistrate Ellen Perkins with the court costs assessed to the City.

Jamaica City Attorney Dave Bruner  filed the appeal in the Guthrie County Courthouse and is awaiting a court date.
