Warmer temperatures have made it possible for the Winterset boys’ track and field meet to be held today, but Mother Nature’s effect is still being felt. Although it’s warm enough for a meet, melting snow from several inches of the white stuff  just five days ago in the Madison County seat community  has made the throwing areas too sloppy for competition. The high jump, long jump, and all the running events will be contested, but there will be no shot put or discus throw at Winterset.

The meet will be the first of the outdoor season for the Greene County Rams and most of the other teams in the field.
