Around 100 Perry Chamber of Commerce members and residents attended last night’s annual awards banquet at the Hotel Pattee.

Attendees enjoyed food and drink at the hotel while hearing from keynote speaker and RAGBRAI director TJ Juskiewicz.  The local committee also announced Perry’s RAGBRAI theme, which is an 80s theme called “Nothin’ but a Good Time” to go along with the event’s entertainment headliner – Hairball.

The highlight of the event however was the presentation of the annual chamber awards.  This year’s Citizen of the Year award went to Mary Nichols of Mary Rose, Joebgen Shoes received the Business of the Year award and Cheri Scheib was selected as the Volunteer of the Year.  Bob and Barb Nevitt of Nevitt Real Estate also received special recognition for their many years of chamber support.
