The high school golfers from Guthrie Center hosted Exira/Elk Horn-Kimballton on April 4 with the GC boys and E/EHK girls winning. The Tigers won 172-205 in the boys’ varsity match and the four lowest scores belong to GC golfers. Gavin McGivney and Patrick Ahrens both shot 42, but McGivney was medalist and Ahrens runner-up determined by the handicap hole score. Chris Shroyer was just one stroke back at 43 and Caleb Wulf shot 45.
The E/EHK girls won 222-264. Cassie Erlmeier of the Spartans was medalist at 48 with Kara Collins, also from E/EHK, at 49. Maria Ahrens led GC with a 54 and Mallory Osen shot 59.
