A number of area high school spring sports teams were in action over the weekend. Huxley was the site of the Ballard Relays for girls in Huxley on April 5. In Class A, Dallas Center-Grimes won a tight team race with 132 points. Carroll High had 128 with ADM (Adel) at 124 in the eight-team field. The Class B winner was CMB (Baxter) with 165 points, followed by 130 for Roland-Story (Story City), and 75 for third place Woodward-Granger.

The ADM boys’ golf team won a triangular at the River Valley Course on Friday 5 with 175 strokes for nine holes. Woodward-Granger was second at 186 and Madrid shot 212 for third place. The ADM girls also won at River Valley vs. W-G and Madrid. ADM had 231 with 239 by W-G and 283 for Madrid.

The Perry girls hosted the Jayette Invitational on April 6 at the Perry Golf & Country Club. Dowling Catholic (West Des Moines) was the winner of the 18-hole event with a score of 360. Humboldt shot 405 with Perry third at 433, followed by Bondurant-Farrar and North Polk (Alleman), both at 435.

In high school boys’ soccer on April 6, ADM won 2-0 over St. Albert of Council BLuffs and the Tigers and Indianola played to a 0-0 tie after a shootout at the ADM tournament. In Stuart, West Central Valley hosted a tournament and won the team title. The Wildcats were 2-0 winners over Chariton in the opening round, followed by a 1-0 championship victory over Des Moines Christian. Nodaway Valley finished third after losing 3-0 to DMC in the first round and a 2-1 overtime win in the consolation vs. Chariton.
