Throwers from Greene County High School competed well on Tuesday at the Prairie Valley Invitational for boys in Gowrie and the Carroll Coed Invitational. Assistant coach Dave Waskow talked to Raccoon Valley Radio about some of the personal bests set by the Rams in the throwing events. “On the girls’ side, Quinn Flack set a personal best of 113′ 9″ in the discus throw. It was the second straight meet with a PR (personal record) for Quinn. She’s been throwing really well in practice and it seems each day she’s improving, which is good to see. All along the girls have been improving. Our problem has been trying to get outside whether it’s been fighting the weather, the ring or circle, but for this early in the year we’ve been very pleased.”

The Rams had four personal best performances at Gowrie. Coach Waskow said, “Each kid is trying to improve each day and we’ve been very pleased with that.” Tory Beger threw 120′ 4″ in the discus and had personal best performances on consecutive throws. Daniel Neal threw a personal best 38′ 8″ in the shot put which was his best by over three feet. Alex Rasmussen had PR’s in both throwing events. He tossed the shot 43′ 1″ for a PR by some three feet and he went 109′ 5″ in the discus.
