The Iowa High School Athletic Association and Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union announced track and field assignments for State Qualifying Meets to be held around the state on May 9. In Class 3A, Nevada and Winterset are meets sites for central Iowa teams. ADM (Adel) and Perry have been assigned to Winterset, along with Dallas Center-Grimes, Carlisle, Chariton, Knoxville, Norwalk, and the host Huskies. Greene County goes to Nevada on May 9 with Ballard (Huxley), Boone, Gilbert, Iowa Falls-Alden, Saydel (Des Moines), Webster City, and the host Cubs.

Ogden is the site of a 2A State Qualifying Meet. THe Bulldogs play host to Panorama (Panora), West Central Valley (Stuart), CMB (Baxter), Des Moines Christian, East Marshall (Le Grand), North Polk (Alleman), Roland-Story (Story City), South Central Calhoun (Lake City), South Hamilton (Jewell), South Hardin (Eldora), and West Marshall (State Center).

Most of the 1A teams in the Raccoon Valley Radio Network listening area will be in Guthrie Center for their State Qualifying Meets. The host Tigers will be joined by Paton-Churdan, Adair-Casey, Ar-We-Va (Westside), Audubon, CAM (Anita), Coon Rapids-Bayard, Exira/Elk Horn-Kimballton, Glidden-Ralston, Madrid, Prairie Valley (Gowrie), Southeast Webster-Grand (Burnside), Woodward-Granger, and Woodward Academy (boys only). Also in 1A, Van Meter is hosting Earlham and 11 other schools in a State Qualifying Meet.
