ADMA Dallas County High School has been listed as one of the top 10 schools in the state.

Adel-De Soto-Minburn is ranked 7th in Iowa and 1,302nd in the nation according to U.S. News and World Report.

Superintendent Greg Dufoe says he found out about the news from a community member and it was a pleasant surprise.

“As I looked at it I wasn’t as surprised as I was initially” says Dufoe.  “It’s based on our advanced placement success and our success on our standardized tests.  I know our data there, and I know it’s very strong and I know that it compares very, very favorably with other schools in Iowa”.

Dufoe says the news is exciting and proves that the hard work is being noticed.

“It’s very good validation of some of the work that we’ve really focused on the last three to four years.  So, from that perspective it really provides outside confirmation of some of the hard work that we’ve done in the past.

The Superintendent says their focus on college readiness classes has increased over the past few years and really been embraced by students.

The school has 434 students and 13 teachers, with a 14-to-1 student to teacher ratio.

27.5% of ADM students took and passed AP college readiness exams and the school scored 3.2% above the state average for math and 3.1% above in reading.
