administrative_professionals_dayToday is National Administrative Professionals Day.  It’s a day celebrated for those individuals who run office personnel and coordinate communications in a business setting.

Greene County High School Secretary Kristi Peacock and athletic secretary Jacque Cunningham have been with the Jefferson-Scranton School District for seven and five years respectively.

Principal Brian Phillips says the secretarial staff works well together and when one of them is gone, the other takes over and keeps the school functioning smoothly.  He talks about Peacock’s positive attitude and work ethic.

“Greeting parents (and) greeting kids, always has a smile on her face.  And is helping parents and whoever walks through the door and it could be just a kid that needs a Band-Aid and the nurse isn’t here.”

While both Peacock and Cunningham agree that multitasking is one of the most challenging parts of their jobs, Peacock says it doesn’t compare to what she enjoys the most.

“Working is all the kids and seeing them grow from when they are freshmen until they graduate.”

So whether you work with or are a superior of an administrative professional, we all need to take the time and thank those who support and lead office operations.
