Area mayors will gather together next month for a new ride along the Raccoon River Valley Trail. The Mayor’s Ride kicks off in Perry Saturday May 11th. Perry Mayor Jay Pattee says he’s looking forward to the event bringing awareness to the fact that the trail loop will be open this year.
“It’s going to be so much fun to get together with the other mayors and just ride the trail” says Pattee. “We’ll kinda look at this great asset that we have and we can seriously encourage our citizens and visitors to our towns to use the trail, ride from town to town and my hopes of course are that it’s going to be a destination for many people.”
Pattee says he believes the trail will continue to bring people from all over the area to Perry and should help benefit every part of the community.
