Social media is nothing new in today’s society but keeping your information private is certainly troublesome.

The Rippey Public Library is hosting a Facebook privacy seminar for the public to learn what privacy settings are appropriate for you.

Librarian Director Sarah Killgore explains how important it is to keep information private from people you don’t know on social media websites.

“You don’t really realize how many people see what you put on Facebook and it’s a big deal if you are a private person.  You don’t realize how much someone can gather information from what you post and can steal your identity.”
