The Dallas County Board of Supervisors will hold a special joint meeting Monday evening.

The Adel De Soto Minburn school district Board of Education and the Adel City Council will join the supervisors in discussion at 7pm Monday.

The purpose of the meeting is to continue to explore options for County facilities.  Due to rapid population growth, Dallas County will soon be required to add an additional courtroom and the Supervisors are tasked with figuring out how to make that happen.  Currently the county leases several buildings in downtown Adel to accommodate all the different departments and the Supervisors are exploring all options including moving the offices to right outside of Adel.

Board of Supervisors chairman Mark Hanson says there’s only one location in the downtown Adel area that may work for their facilities and that’s the middle school site.  He says they’re hoping the city and school board have answers related to costs that may be incurred with using that site.

The meeting takes place in the ADM High School board room at 7pm Monday and is open to the public.
