The Greene County Sheriff’s Office, Greene County Emergency Medical Services and Grand Junction Fire and Rescue responded to a 911 call at 195th Street and a just west on Q Avenue in Hardin Township just before noon Friday.

Sheriff Steve Haupert says Robert George Wilson, 41 was loading a Terra Gator with nitrogen fertilizer when it lurched forward pinning him against the Gator and his semi-tractor trailer bed.  Sheriff Haupert says Wilson was transported to the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson within thirty minutes and an hour later was Life Flighted to Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines where he was pronounced dead.

Sheriff Haupert comments that it’s an unfortunate situation and says during planting time it’s especially dangerous for farmers and urges them to take precautions to stay safe.
