greene co high schoolGreene County High School recently received national recognition for educational success.

Last week, the US News magazine published its 2013 Best High School Rankings.  Greene County High School received a bronze ranking with 2,515 other schools nationally.  There were 1,790 school picked as silver and only 500 high schools in the country were selected as gold.

Principal Brian Phillips says a recognition like this is great and he owes to all to the staff and students for their hard work.

“Very proud of our students and it just demonstrates that they’ve got a lot of great things going on at the high school.  It goes directly back to the top notch staff that we have that are bringing rigor, relevance and relationships to kids and it just goes to show that you can get a quality education here at Greene County (high school).  I’m just so proud.”

The criteria is based on student performance and state mandated assessments.

Phillips points out that their rating is part of the top quarter of schools in the nation of the 21,000 high schools published in the report.
