Stuart Volunteer Fire Department is replacing some equipment thanks to a grant from the Guthrie County Community Foundation.
The foundation has awarded 15 grants totaling $82,340, the funds come from share of Iowas gambling receipts.
The 50/50 matching grant money will be used towards the purchase of new radios and pagers.

Stuart Fire Chief Gary Fox says he is so thankful to the Guthrie County Community Foundation for awarding them the grant.  He says they applied for the monies in March after hearing that other departments and counties had applied for funds as well.

The new radios and pagers will replace older out of date equipment at a total cost nearly $6,200 dollars.
