A deputy was asked to supply a state accident report to Harrison Johnston of Rippey.  Johnston had a car-deer accident on Monday night and would file the report to the state.

A deputy was advised of a theft of solar yard lights from a residence in Grand Junction.

A deputy was advised of a semi-tractor trailer that was experiencing mechanical problems and parked on a traveled portion of the roadway one mile north of Dana on Highway 144. The deputy assisted with traffic control until the truck was removed.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office, Grand Junction Fire and Rescue, Greene County Emergency Medical Services and Jefferson Fire and Rescue were dispatched to Spring Lake Park for a reported accidental drowning. Greene County Conservation and Parks personnel were working at the lake and were initially notified that 3 year old Ransom Cummings of Jefferson, Iowa, was missing. Cummings was at Spring Lake with his mother and two other siblings when he wandered away and walked onto a dock located on the east side of the beach area. Greene County Chief Deputy Sheriff and Grand Junction Fire and Rescue personnel spotted the youth approximately six foot from the end of the dock in about five foot of water. Cummings was brought out of the water and administered CPR. Ransom Cummings was transported to the Greene County Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead. Cummings is the son of Chad and Emily Cummings of Jefferson.

A deputy assisted the owner of a vehicle that had run out of fuel at 185 N Avenue.

A deputy checked an abandoned vehicle on 140 Street east of Churdan.

A deputy assisted the Jefferson Police Department with an electrical transformer fire at Reed and Pinet streets in Jefferson.

A deputy was called to Scranton to help mitigate a civil dispute.

A deputy was asked to check on a burning brush pile in Rippey. There was not a burn ban at that time and everything was found to be in order.

A deputy was asked to check on unusual noises occurring around the Churdan Cooperative. The deputy was unable to locate or hear any noises upon his arrival.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
