Proper water intake is important to keeping our bodies operating at full capacity at all times and with the warmer weather it is important that we take care to make sure we meet our bodies requirements.
Guthrie County Public Health Administrator, Lisa Chiodo says with all the exercising and extra sweat we produce during these warmer times it is important that we keep hydrated, “adults 19 years of age and older need to drink 2-3 liters of water a day.”
She says to care for our children during these times, we need to make sure they are receiving around 2-3 cups of water after playing outside, and to watch for warning signs of dehydration from infants and little ones who can’t express their thirst as well as adults.  “Watch for agitation and a sinking in of the soft spot on infants, that is a key sign of dehydration” says Chiodo.
Making sure that you drink more water than you do caffeinated drinks, will also help your body operate better, she adds.
Other dehydration warning signs include dizziness, darker urine and body and head aches.
