Everyone is invited to join other Perry community members downtown this weekend to help spruce up the town.

The downtown task force and RAGBRAI hospitality committee have organized a community wide downtown cleanup for Sunday afternoon.

City Administrator Butch Niebuhr says this is in addition to all the work the city is doing this spring and everyone has the same goal.

“We’re doing a lot of work in the downtown and trying to make our city as presentable as possible” says Niebuhr.  “With 20-25,000 visitors we’re going to see on one day during RAGBRAI and we’re actually hope we’ll get the trail counters out this month and we’re hoping to see anywhere from 1,000 people a week coming through the trail system.  So we’re anxious to get that going and show our best foot forward.”
