droughtThere’s little change in the drought and soil moisture conditions this week in the Raccoon River Valley.

According to the National Climatic Data Center, Dallas and Guthrie County along with the southeast portion of Greene County remain drought free.  The remainder of Greene County is still abnormally dry.

Perry is just a quarter of an inch away from their normal monthly rainfall total, registering 4.4 inches already.  Jefferson usually gets just over 4 ½ inches in May and they’ve registered 3.1” so far and Guthrie County typically gets more than 5 inches of rain this month.  So far they’ve recorded just under 4 inches.
