droughtPerry has officially surpassed the normal monthly precipitation amount with a full week left in May and more rain in the forecast.

According to the National Weather Service, Perry has received more than 5.3 inches of precipitation so far.  The normal rain total in May is just under 4.7 inches.

Jefferson has recorded 3.7 inches thus far, about 0.8 inch under their normal monthly total and Guthrie Center has received 4.7 inches when they typically get more than 5 inches of rain.

Drought conditions remain the same across the area with the northwest two thirds of Greene County still being abnormally dry, while the remainder of the county along with Dallas, Guthrie being drought free.
