The City of Panora will experience a brief power outage during the early morning hours of June 8th around 4 A.M. The outage is expected to last around two hours.
Mayor Pat Parker says that the work will begin around 3 A.M. and they don’t want current equipment to cause any major problems, “we’re going to replace three of these regulators that are getting outdated.”
Mayor Parker says there are many different dangers that can come with these aging regulators, “if we don’t get them replaced and we have another heat spell like we did last summer, it could cause rolling blackouts to the city.
Parker also says that if one or more of these regulators goes down it could cause damage to the substation, which could put the city without power for a couple of days.
This is a preventive effort, which will save the city any power problems in the long run.
