Friday, May 24th

A deputy was advised of the theft of jewelry from a residence in the 1200 block of 290th Street. The owner will be coming to the Law Enforcement Center to initiate a theft report.

A deputy was advised that a vehicle had damaged some new asphalt paving in Grand Junction.  The driver of the vehicle was located in Boone County and his insurance company would be advised of the damages.

A deputy was asked to check several suspicious persons on 220th Street and Neola Avenue near Sparky’s.  Upon the deputy’s arrival the two subjects were not found.

A deputy was advised of a vehicle with a flat tire on 220th Street east of Grand Junction.  The vehicle was not found at that time.

A deputy was asked to check for an erratic driver on Highway 25 turning east on County Road E 63.  The vehicle and driver were not found upon the deputy’s arrival.

A Greene County Conservation Parks employee informed the Law Enforcement Center of illegal dumping near Seven Hills Park.

A deputy was dispatched to the 160th block of J Avenue for a reported theft of tools and a small trailer. The deputy initiated a theft report.

A deputy was advised of a harassment complaint on West Hager Street in Grand Junction.

Saturday, May 25th

A deputy advised the Greene County Law Enforcement Center of a downed power line along 220th Street and R Avenue. Alliant Energy was informed of the downed power line.

A deputy was advised of a civil matter in Grand Junction.

A deputy was advised of a theft of personal property in the 2000 block of 175th Street. Upon the deputy’s arrival it was determined to be a civil matter.

A deputy was asked to respond to a stop sign violation on 300th Street and B Avenue.  A building surveillance video had recorded the multiple stop sign violations.

A deputy responded to a one vehicle accident on Orchard Avenue and 195th Street.  The vehicle had slid into the ditch and was removed by the owner. The vehicle sustained no damages and the driver was not hurt.  No state report was needed.

Two deputies responded to an assault situation in the 2000 block of 190th Street.  The situation was resolved between family members but DHS will initiate an investigation next week.

A several deputies conducted bar checks throughout Greene County.  All locations investigated were found to be in compliance.

Sunday, May 26th

A deputy while conducting a routine traffic stop for speeding did initiate field sobriety testing  and asked several male subjects to submit to a breath test.  Everything was found to be in order and the driver and passenger were allowed to continue to their destination.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Jefferson Police Department with a minor traffic accident at 203 North Elm Street in Jefferson.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
