Yesterday may have been Memorial Day but we should always remember, reflect and honor those who fought for our county

Vietnam Veteran Ron Gruber of American Legion Post 146 in Stuart, says he wants to get the youth more involved with Memorial Day so that they know the past and can correctly remember this day.

Gruber says that he feels service men and women are almost an overlooked entity, at yesterday’s Memorial Day service, they had local cub scouts involved.

During the service at the cemetery they read the names of local veterans who have passed since last year’s Memorial Day service, played taps and performed a gun salute to honor those.

Gruber says veterans appreciate it when you take the time to honor your veterans each day.
