Perry senior left hander Shelby Townsend finished 17th with an 18 over 91 in the first day of the 2013 4A State Golf Championship at the Ames Golf and Country Club.  Townsend sat 26 strokes behind the leader Jessie Sindlinger of Charles City who shot an impressive 8 under 65.  Townsend will cap off her successful high school career today with the finale at the state tournament.  Tee time is slated for 9 am.
