The city of Panora has cancelled their planned power outage this weekend, due to the inclement weather.
Last week Mayor Pat Parker said the outage is necessary in order to eliminate stress on the city’s the substation this summer, “we still need to do this project because it is important to lower our consumption and keep energy levels running smoothly.”
However, due to the excessive amount of rain and in consideration of sump pumps running, the power outage scheduled for the morning of June 8th, 2013 will be postponed to a later date.
The later date is not yet known as it is completely due to the weather says City Administrator Lisa Grossman.
