The 34th annual Bell Tower Festival is this weekend in Jefferson and several events are planned for Friday.

Greene County Chamber Executive Director Ken Paxton wants to remind the public that the carnival rides and the Midway will be going on from noon until midnight on Friday on the east side of the county courthouse.  Advanced tickets can be purchased at the chamber or at several businesses in Jefferson and the county.

The Greene County Cattlemen will be serving a community barbecue from 5-7pm at the community center.  Booth exhibits and mini-golf will be from 4-8pm.

At 6pm will be a flag day ceremony by the Jefferson Elks Club in front of the Lincoln Statue south of the courthouse.

In conjunction with the Lincoln Highway celebrating its 100th anniversary, the Bell Tower Festival opening ceremonies will feature renowned singer Cece Otto as she performs various songs to tell the history of the Lincoln Highway.  The opening ceremonies are at 7pm on the Bell Tower plaza stage.

Later that night, there will be a middle school dance at the Webb House from 8-10:30pm, the Muddpuppies will perform in the beverage garden from 9pm-1am and star watching will be on the south of Hy-Vee Drug Store at dusk.
