Heavy rain, particularly in the northern part of Guthrie County, has caused some flash flooding recently.
Property owners at Lake Panorama have been put on alert to secure their boats and boat lifts due to potential flooding of the Middle Raccoon River recently
Fortunately the flooding was stopped by the Lake Panorama dam which was able to release water at the same rate it was receiving i. A debris trap at the north end of Lake Panorama also collected a large amount of crop debris, trees, logs and branches.
Guthrie County’s Lenon Mill Park and the City of Panora’s Water Works Park were closed due to flooding.
At Nations Bridge Park, conservation board officials said the South Raccoon River was okay and the park would remain open
As these storms start to come through, more roadways throughout the county will be in danger of flooding, just like what happened on Highway 25 in Bayard and Highway 141 just west of Bagley recently.
