Greene County Grows Farmer’s Market will be open starting Tuesday, June 11th.

From 4-6:30pm on Tuesdays, the public can purchase locally produced products on the east and south side of the county courthouse in Jefferson.

Farmer’s market chair Chris Henning says there will be a variety of vendors for people including locally grown vegetables.

“Besides vegetables, we have vendors who are bringing beef, that would be Moo Meat, and Mary Hillman will have her USDA inspected chicken.”

Henning notes there are two kinds of fees.  There is a daily fee of $20 for those who have the sudden urge to sell their items.

“If somebody has an overabundance of vegetables that particular day and wants to come in or decides they want to bake that day and bring in baked goods, they can come in and pay the $20 fee.”

She says there is a reduced seasonal fee that is about $9 per day and is good for the entire farmer’s market season from June 11th-September 24th.

Call Henning for additional information at 515-370-2436.
