Friday, June 7th

A deputy was advised of a theft of iron and personal property from a farm building site in the 180th block of A Avenue.

A deputy was asked to remove a stray dog from a farm residence in the 2000 block of S Avenue. The dog was transported to the PAWS kennel in Jefferson.

A deputy assisted with the removal of a semi-tractor and trailer from the roadway that developed a flat tire in the 300 block of S Avenue.

A deputy was advised of several E-911 calls that originated from a cell phone at Spring Lake. The owner of the cell phone stated that the calls were made by mistake and that nothing was wrong.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in Grand Junction and subsequently arrested Patrick Thompson of Grand Junction for possession of a firearm by a felon and Eric Rosenow also of Grand Junction, for a probation violation along with numerous stolen items recovered.

A deputy was advised of several youth riding mopeds in Scranton. The youth were not located upon the deputy’s arrival.

A deputy was dispatched to Churdan for the report of an assault. All persons involved are juveniles and the Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the incident.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office was advised of an underage drinking party in the 2400 block of 180th Street. Four juveniles were taken into custody for possession of alcohol under legal age and one juvenile was also arrested for providing alcohol to minors.

Saturday, June 8th

A deputy was advised of a harassment complaint in Grand Junction. The case is still under investigation at this time.

A deputy was dispatched to the 2000 block of 190th Street for a reported burglary.

A deputy assisted the Jefferson Police department with an accident at Elm and Washington Streets.

A deputy was advised of a reported theft in Dana. The theft is under investigation at this time.

A deputy was advised of a harassment complaint in Rippey.

A deputy responded to a theft of an electric  cattle fencer near T Avenue and 170th Street

A deputy was asked to locate a dog running at large in the 1200 block of I Avenue. The dog was taken to the PAWS pound in Jefferson.

A deputy responded to a security alarm at Reuter’s Red Power in Grand Junction. Upon the deputy’s arrival everything was found to be in order.

A deputy was asked to do a welfare check on a resident in Grand Junction.

Sunday, June 9th

A deputy assisted the Jefferson Police Department with an altercation at Wet Goods.

Several Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy’s assisted the Jefferson Police Department with an underage  party at 102 South Grimmell Street.

A deputy checked an unattended vehicle at T Avenue and 240 Street. The driver was located and issued a citation for failure to maintain control.

A deputy could not find the source of an E-911 call coming from the area around Eaton Avenue and 210th Street.

A deputy was asked to check a barking dog complaint in Grand Junction.

A deputy was advised of a complaint of illegal burning in Grand Junction. The resident was asked not to burn plastics in the trash barrel.

A deputy responded to a car-deer accident on 220th Street near Neola Avenue. A 2006 Toyota Avalon owned by Jon M. Jay of Carroll, Iowa, sustained approximately $2000 in damages. Jon Jay was not injured in the accident.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
